Chitwan National Park - 5th September

Arrived in Chitwan in blistering heat which was a nice change from rainy Kathmandu. The first day we get a introduction to the local Tharu people at the cultural centre by watching them perform their traditional dance (a little bit like morris dancing). The next day is a 4 hour trek in the jungle....the weather isn't on our side and it rains all morning which is great if you're a leech! The trek was brilliant despite being scared witless after being stalked by a bengal tiger and then being told to !!!RUN!!! by our guide...hilarious?!?!?! We finish off the day by staying at a jungle lookout but not seeing much apart from deer and lots of mosquitos, this is made up for the following day as we have an amazing elephant ride in the jungle which is better for seeing animals as it hides the scent of humans and we even get up close to a rhino!
