Dharamshala - 25th August

Mcleod Ganj

Om mani padme hung....Om mani padme hung...Om mani padme hung
Mcleod Ganj, a suburb of Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh was our next stop. Once an old British hill station, now it is home to the Dalai Lama and the exiled Tibetian government. The town is situated high up on the hills with wonderful views all around, however it is very touristy and we are surrounded by westerners clad in balloon trousers, Crocs...WITH SOCKS...and ethnic tops on a mission to 'find' themselves. We went and listened to some teachings by the Dalai lama...but Rich got bored so we went and got some cake...Rich is NOT on the path to enlightenment! Ended up staying here for 6 long days as I got food poisoning....12 movies later, I feel well enough to travel. Next stop Delhi (again) before we fly out to Nepal.
